Adesua Etomi, a prominent Nigerian actress, has said that when her husband, Bankole Wellington, commonly known as Banky W, expressed his ambition to enter politics, she was afraid.
In a recent interview with Hip TV, Adesua stated that Banky’s remark immediately alarmed and scared her.

However, she later chose to support him because she believes that purpose is more important than fear.
Banky announced his intention to compete for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat on the platform of the Modern Democratic Party on November 11, 2018.
He stood for the same seat under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections, but was defeated by the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Attah Thaddeus.
Adesua revealed her early concerns and dissatisfaction with Banky’s choice to enter politics. She did, however, highlight that she believed in the necessity of achieving one’s goals and that he had her entire support.
She said;
“When Banky said that he wanted to go into politics, I was a little bit worried and disturbed about it.
But I also believe that purpose is more important than fear. And I want to see him fulfil purpose. So, he has my support 100 per cent.”
