Summer Series: Super Falcons coach admits it will be tough vs Portugal

Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum has said he expects a difficult game against Portugal, who he described as “excellent” despite their loss to hosts USA in the Summer Series.

Nigeria Sunday face Portugal, who are ranked 29th in the world by FIFA.

“It will be a difficult game, it will be a different kind of challenge than against Jamaica,” Waldrum said.

“I will expect us to be much better (vs Portugal) than we were against Jamaica.

“Portugal were excellent (vs USA), they had a good game plan and almost got them a result.

“They are very disciplined, very organised, a very, very good team.”

The coach said he will ring some changes in the starting XI, but he said he still expects to win the game.

“Every time I step on to the pitch, I expect to win,” he said.
