Our walk with God through Christ Jesus is a process. As part of that process, God will do the following:

He will destroy your confidence in YOUR ABILITIES

He will destroy your confidence in YOUR PEOPLE

He will destroy your confidence in YOUR POSSESSIONS

He will destroy your confidence in YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS

And so on.

It will be a long and difficult battle. And the goal of this battle is clear – so that your confidence may be in Christ, and in Christ ALONE. For all other grounds are sinking sand.

But this sentence of death on SELF will only be carried out if you have the right attitude to the word of God – that is, SUBMITTING to the word of God, instead of twisting and modifying it to suit your understanding.

Further to this, it is important to rejoice in ALL life’s circumstances that the Lord allows to come your way – instead of murmuring, moaning, and complaining. Or being heavy-hearted.

Through the discipline of the spirit, your mind has to be CONDITIONED TO SUFFER for Christ, and for the Kingdom that you will reign in. Until your mind is conditioned to suffer in this way, God cannot truly and readily work in you as the Master Potter that will BREAK YOU DOWN to re-mould you.

Thus, you will remain a babe in Christ, an unfruitful branch that may soon be cut off (John 15:1-8). The closer you walk with God, the more intense your suffering is likely to be.

There is no other way to enter the Kingdom of God.

“And when they had preached the gospel to that city … they returned again … confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that WE MUST THROUGH MUCH TRIBULATION ENTER INTO THE KINGDOM OF GOD. (Acts 14:21-23)

“But we had the SENTENCE OF DEATH in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead….” (2 Corinthians 1:9)

Have you TRAINED your mind to allow God to work in your life in this way? (1 Peter 4:1)

Until your mind is ready, the journey cannot truly begin – lest you turn back when you see war, like the children of Israel (Exodus 13:17). The same warning given to believers in Hebrews 10:38.

It is for this reason that many believers today are on THE ROUNDABOUT OF SPIRITUALITY – going round and round in circles without making TRUE spiritual progress in Christ! Our progress is dependent on the latitude we are willing to give THE CROSS to do its work in our lives.

“And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” (Luke 9:23)

Is your heart truly ready for this HARD journey to eternal life? (Matthew 7:14)

The love of God is waiting to help the willing. The pain is real. And deep. But the reward is eternally guaranteed in a faithful God.

Do you believe? Is your heart ready?

Thanks for reading, God bless you.
